Double Diamond Farms understands the concerns of consumers and the reality of food safety. We offer a controlled environment from growth through production, storage and transportation. Double Diamond Farms strives to be an industry leader and is proud to assert our food safety programs.


Traceability is at the heart of our food safety program

We grow each product in specific greenhouse zones tied to a day of the week.

Harvesting in each zone happens on specific days, letting us be sure of where in our greenhouses a product came from.

We pack the products in boxes coded with date of harvest, and stack these boxes on pallets to await shipping.

Pick tickets matching the codes on the box and palette are attached to each order. In case of a recall we use these codes to identify the zones and customers involved.

We’re Certified

Our customers trust us to grow product that is consistent in shape, appearance and flavour. They also expect that we have systems and certifications in place to that assure the safety and suitability of our products for consumers.

These measures are essential to the way we do business.

Non GMO Certified

Double Diamond is committed to growing only non-GMO products; it’s the way nature intended food to be. We’re certified by the Non-GMO Project, North America’s only non-profit organization committed to preserving and building sources of non-GMO products.



Why It Matters

GMOs are Genetically Modified Organisms. In genetic modification, scientists remove one or more genes from the DNA of one organism and introduce them into the DNA of another. This is often done to enhance resistance to disease or increase the expression of certain desirable traits. Evidence that genetic modification harms humans and other animals is driving demand for non-GMO products in North America. Double Diamond is proud to offer its customers strictly non-GMO produce.

We’re Primus Certified

Our greenhouses, and those of our offsite growers, consistently achieve full accreditation from Primus Labs, a leading food safety audit firm.



What Does This Mean?

Primus Certification ensures that our greenhouses, packhouses and products are audited for harmful microbiological agents (food borne bacteria), using current FDA, USDA, AOAC and NOM-approved methodologies. Primus Certification is essential to the confidence and safety of our customers, as well as our farm’s ongoing reputation.

GAP/GMP Certified

Compliance with good agricultural practices (GAP) and good manufacturing practices (GMP) standards matters to our customers. We submit to regular Harmonized GAP Audits and GMP audits:
